Ctpsalmist They Wanna Hear It.

God bless you all and thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I pray this encourages and inspire many to use the gift God has given you. This is my very 1st Track I ever recorded.

On Aug 7, 2015 I purchased the track "They Wanna Hear It" produced by C.Woods. When I first heard the track I was like I gotta get this 1. I'm very picky when it comes to track selection, if the track make you wanna dance to the point that you won't hear the message I'll pass on it. Another thing I like to do is what I call "let the bars ride" by testing my lyrics against the track to see if they fit.


The Process.

Writing  They Wanna Hear It took me about 3 days to write but my recording process took 8 months because I wanted to make sure it was done right, also I recorded  They Wanna Hear It myself in my garage in the freezing cold. My good friends from Yeshour Radio, Serious and MrLive critiqued  and pushed me to bring my best bars to the song. They where also the 1st to Play my song on their radio station. Then I did a live interview on the Donnie Mccurklin show hosted by Bishop Maccarter of 1480 Wknd Radio. Brother Enon from Truth Music Studios Mixed my track to perfection. I came with the Intro 1st, now mind you in the past I would just go in but I realize I need to let the people know what I'm talking about. I Also learned to speak in my intro by Listening to my Favorite CHH Artist DaTruth on tracks where he spoke and then went in. PreChorus, Chorus, and verses came after.

How I came up with the concept.

Looking at the state of CHH and how far it has come from the Cross-movement days. Many are compromising and not living according to the word. Some have watered down their content to where you can't tell if its secular or not. So my lyrics came from what was just stated.  I Have always been a visual writer. I also received inspiration from Isaiah where it talks about the remnant returning to God.

Verse breakdown.

In the 1st verse  I make a bold proclamation that for Christ I live and for christ I die. In my 2nd verse I let everyone know where my boldness comes from. In the 3rd verse I let everyone know that I live for God and not by the worlds standards.

Final Thoughts

When I write its to make all who hear reflect on life itself. Because I'm mindful that Music is powerful and words can build up or tear down a person. Thank you once again would love to heart your heart in the comments below also take a listen to "They Wanna Hear It"

They Wanna Hear It Remix Featuring Trevor Pope and Serious Voice

Had to come back with the Remix to They Wanna Hear It. The first  They Wanna Hear It had a very good response. It was played on 13 online radio stations 2 out of the 13 was Non Christian radio stations. With the remix God placed in my heart who to collaborate with. So I hit up my bro Trevor Pope up first. Then I hit up my Sister Serious Voice.

Shoutout to my Bro C.Woods he is the Producer of all 3 of my songs. I once joked with him telling him if anyone that have tracks from him don't want to use them I'll take them. I'm very picky when it comes to beat selection it has to pull me and make me want to write Bars.

I think God for his timing, and giving me the passion to pick the pen back up again. This is Truly for the Remnant of God.

This song Ms Virtuous is not only dedicated to my wife but to all the Women of God.
My brother Christopher Micheal Wood Sr produced the track and my Brother Enon of Truth Music Studios Mixed and Mastered my Vocals. Also my Brother Soft Spoken Prophet Blessed the Chorus big time. Ms Virtuous sums up 11 years being together and 10 years being married to my Love. Wont go into full Detail about what is in the song because I want you to hear for yourself. But I will say that this was from my heart. With this song I want to encourage our Women of God and let them know we appreciate you and all that you do and that everyday is Valentine Day.

God Bless everyone who reads  this, my name is Garry E Shepard Jr.  I'm the oldest of 5 siblings 3 Brothers  and 1 Sister. Born and raised in Hartford Ct. I'm a Minister, Husband and Father of  2 boys. I raised in the church, grew up in a domestic violence  home but I  told myself at a young age I would break the generation curse. During those tough times I would write poems to escape  from the pain and anger. Needless  to say my songs where violence and based on what I saw in my Urban Community. A die hard Hip Hop head. Headboard filled with CD's East Coast  mostly, some West Coast. At 8 I used  to freestyle off of instrumentals but lost it when I started  writing my songs at age 13.

How I was introduced to CHH.

 Back in 2002 My girlfriend at the time let me borrow the CrossMovenment Album Human Emergency. From then I fell in love with CHH, I remember  not wanting to give it back. I would buy all of CrossMovenment  music. What really started me to write  CHH songs was DaTruth  "Moment  Of Truth" the Track "Please" inspired  me. And I been a fan  ever since.

The Process.

I would go on to do 5 shows but got discouraged  do to the lack of support from churches  at the time and the fact that I was becoming  Prideful,  with  each compliment I received. I would always  say God gets the glory  but inside my heart I was Thristy  for accolades.  So I stopped  for 10yrs.


Holy Fire rekindled within my Soul.

In 2012 the lord  begin  to deposit  music  within me  through past experiences in my life. Was working on anew EP  but wasn't disciplined  financially  so I would always say I'm working  on Music but not going all in.


Bring my dream to fruition. 

2016 I released my Buzz Track They Wanna Hear It. Talking about  being excited thanks to my friends  at Yeshour Radio for critiquing  me and making themselves  available. And For being the first radio station to play it on air. And the many other radio stations  who gave my song a chance. To Truthmusicstudio  who mix my song to perfection. And My Brother Christopher  Michael Woods  for Producing the Track.


What I learned and still learning.

I learned that at the time I started to do CHH  I wasn't  mature  enough I was 22 or 23 at the time and I didn't have tough skin to take  the criticism  of CHH. I've learned to invest  in myself and  to "just do it" like Nike. I've learned and study  fellow CHH Artist who been there done that, the ones who don't mind sharing how the got started. I'm also continuing  to learn that team work is needed because  I can't do it all.
